Mrs. Fry's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance I, G-6, Space 3. Betty Harris Fry, age 79, of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Habersham County on February 1, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Henry C. Harris and Bessie Funk Harris. Mrs. Fry was a member of Line Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano and being with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fry was also preceded in death by her husband, Rennie Fry; son, Steve Gulley; brothers, Odell, Joe and Ernest Harris; sisters, Willie Mae Moore, Emma Lou Jones, Jimmie Boyd and Imogene Simpson. Mrs. Fry was the last surviving member of her family. Survivors include daughters, Maxine Fry of Cleveland and Judy Roberts of Mt. Airy; son, Larry Gulley of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Tarra Jackson(Jeffrey), Jordan Roberts and Amber Gulley; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-5 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family is at the home of daughter, Judy Roberts.
