Betty Leonard

Mrs. Leonard's final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill III, A-8, Space 3. Betty Fennell Leonard, age 85 of Gainesville and formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Born on July 14, 1932 in Clarkesville, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Prelo and Emmaline Horne Fennell. Mrs. Leonard was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leonard was also preceded in death by her husband, George Ray Leonard; brothers, Jack, Wendell and George Fennell; sisters, Katherine Martin, Bertha Nicholson and Hazel Ludwig. Survivor include daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Daniel Cistola of Gainesville; son, Terry Pennington of Arizona; grandchildren, Jason Kalb, Kris Kalb and Melissa Traxler; five great grandchildren; sister, Doris Rumsey of Toccoa. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 pm, Saturday, January 6, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
