Mrs. Smith's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion II, A-5, Space 3. Betty Grindle Smith, age 82, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015.Mrs. Smith was born on September 12, 1932 in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Mathew and Bertie Strickland Grindle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Smith and son, Joe A. Smith. Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist faith. She was a retired employee of Mount Vernon Mills with 50 years of service. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and Dwight Andrews, Baldwin, GA, Karen and Shannon Lomax, Lula, GA; daughter, Lynn Smith, Cornelia, GA; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Yonah Memorial Gardens with Pastor Chad Holcomb officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Betty G.
