Mrs. Thomas' final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance II, G-9, Space 1. Blonnie Holbrooks Thomas, age 96, of Mount Airy, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. Mrs. Thomas was born on May 7, 1924 in Greenwood, South Carolina to the late Christopher Columbus and Lela Mae Crumley Holbrooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Dr. R.L. Thomas; son, Bobby Lee Thomas; brothers, Julius James Holbrooks, Ray Jasper Holbrooks, and George A. Holbrooks. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dr. David Black, of Mt. Airy; sisters, Eunice Stephens, of Bishopville, SC; brothers, Ralph Holbrooks, of Canton; Fred Holbrooks, of Demorest; Eddie Holbrooks, of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Heidi McInnish and husband, Joey Parr; Abigail Hobbs and husband, Mark; great-grandchildren, Jack and Thomas McInnish; and Aspen Hobbs. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. A livesteam of the services will be available on the Whitfield Funeral Home & Crematory's facebook page on Thursday December 17, at 2:00 p.m. at facebook.com/whitfieldfh Due to concerns with COVID-19, Mrs. Thomas will lie in state at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
