Mrs. Smith's final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill II, A-20, Space 3. Bonnie Sue Franklin Smith, age 86, of Mount Airy, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020. Mrs. Smith was born on October 19, 1934 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Steven Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Bell Franklin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lewis G. Smith; sister, WInnie Jenkins; brothers, Eugene Franklin, Gladston Franklin, Steve Franklin, Jr., and Ray Franklin. Mrs. Smith was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susan Smith Rudeseal and John Dale, of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchel and Susan Smith, of Cornelia; Tony and Janet Smith, of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Melissa Rudeseal Downer, Andrew Rudeseal, Gentri Wilbanks, Jake Smith, Jaron Smith, Sheldon Smith, Cameron Smith, and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. Interment will be held at the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the funeral home prior to the service.
