Mr. York's final place of rest is at Garden of Calvary, L-11, Space 2. BUDDY YORK, age 70, of Mt. Airy, GA, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. York was born on August 21, 1936 in Habersham County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Marlor and Mae Taylor York. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd York and a sister, Margie Taylor. Survivors include: his wife: Ruth Johnson York, Mt. Airy, GA; his daughter: Bessie York, Mt. Airy, GA; his daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Jimmy Franklin, Mt. Airy, GA; his sister: Georgia Franklin, Cleveland, GA; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Beatrice York and Ray "Buzz" and Margie York, all of Clarkesville, GA; Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Charles Black and Rev. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
