Mrs. Smith's final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill IV, A-2, Space 1. Bunice Lewallen Smith, age 93, of Baldwin, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Mrs. Smith was born on February 18, 1924, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Felton and Ora Bolden Lewallen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Smith; seven brothers and sisters; and one granddaughter. Bunice was a homemaker. Survivors include sons, Gary A. Smith of Athens and Sammy W. Smith of Baldwin; brother, Robert Lewallen of Florida; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Phillip Yarber officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the funeral home.
