Carlye Lynn Elrod

Ms. Elrod's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance I, D-11, Space 4. CARLYE LYNN ELROD, age 20, of Demorest, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Hall County, on April 23, 1994, she was a daughter of Jeffrey Elrod and Tina Robinson Kotecki. Carlye was a member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church in Flowery Branch and also attended Riverpoint Community Church in Cornelia. She attended Jackson County Comprehensive High School from 2008 until 2010 and graduated from Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2012. She then attended the University of Northern Colorado and earned a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from Front Range Community College. She was currently attending Lanier Technical College pursuing her Radiology certificate, while working at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed such things as volleyball, basketball and softball and being active in Young Life. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Carlye was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Carol Bowen Elrod; great grandparents, Pernell Elrod and Hazel Hooper; aunt, Johnita Lynn Robinson. Survivors include father and companion, Jeffrey Elrod and Teri Martin of Demorest; mother and stepfather, Tina Robinson Kotecki and Ken Kotecki of Fort Collins, Colorado; brother, Codye Lee Elrod of Cornelia; sister, Samantha Gail Elrod of Braselton; paternal grandfather, Donald Elrod of Mt. Airy; maternal grandparents, S.C. and Iva Lea Robinson of Cornelia; a host of other family and friends in and out of state. A celebration of Carlye’s life will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor Kevin Mangum officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
