Mrs. Kimbrel's final place of rest is located at Garden of Honor, A-9, Space 1. Carol Dempsey Kimbrel, age 76, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Mrs. Kimbrel was born on October 16, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to the late William Marvin and Lucille Dempsey. She was a home maker, and a member of Level Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Waymon Kimbrel, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Michael K. Free, of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Amanda Kimbrel, of Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Jack and Libby Dempsey, of Brownsville, Texas; grandchildren, Anna and Bobby Carlan, Abby Kimbrel, D.J. Kimbrel, Simon Free, Lillian Free, Elliott Free; great-grandson Zane Carlan; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Michael Gossett officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
