Mrs. Purcell's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance IV, E-14, Space 3. CAROLYN WHITFIELD PURCELL, age 83, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Mrs. Purcell was born on July 1, 1931 in Banks County, GA to the late Hubert and Gertrude Caudell Whitfield. Along with her Parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Purcell; son, Terry Purcell; sisters, Wansa Purcell, Sue Moore, and Genell Williams. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church, the Adult 2 Sunday school class and The Chariot Baptist Golden Nuggets Senior Group. She put God first, and was a caring Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was a retired I.E. manager with Mount Vernon Mills with 29 years of service. Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Purcell, of Mt. Airy, GA; sister, Linda Poole, of Homer, GA; brothers, James Whitfield, of Mt. Airy; Gary Whitfield, of Homer, GA; and Lamar Whitfield, of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Michelle Purcell, Leanna Purcell Barrett, Jennifer Purcell, Abigail Purcell, Hannah Purcell, and Caleb Purcell; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Purcell, Baldwin, GA. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home North Chapel, Demorest, GA., with Rev. Scott Smith and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 6, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers Donations may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
