Mr. Wheeler's final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill IV, D-14, Space 1. CHARLES PAUL WHEELER, age 86, of Alto, GA passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010. Mr. Wheeler was born on August 14, 1923 in Franklin County, GA to the late John Franklin Wheeler, Jr. and Jimmie Isbell Wheeler. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Wheeler and sister, Ruth Akin. He was a member of Clark's Creek Baptist Church and a deacon as well as a retired vocational school instructor with the Georgia Prison System with 19 years of service. He was also a member of Cornelia Lodge #92 F & A.M. for 63 years where he served as a Director of Work, Coach, and Past Master. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lucille McCoy Wheeler, Alto, GA; his goddaughter, Lindsay McCoy, Carnesville, GA; his sisters, Lois W. South, Washington, GA and Louise W. Waycaster, Kings Mountain, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with the Rev. Hal Cason officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
