Diane Christine Johnson (Stephens)

Mrs. Stephens final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill IV, E-6, Space 3 Diane Stewart Stephens, age 79, of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024. Born on May 29, 1945, in Baldwin, she was a daughter of the late James Stewart and Christine Powell Stewart. Ms. Stephens was retired from Riegel and was of the Baptist faith. She was President of the “Hen Club” at Green Mountain Village, and enjoyed fishing and taking walks in her spare time. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Kastner; brothers, Glen Stewart, and Ray Stewart; sisters, Carolyn Brock, and Frances Moon. Survivors include boyfriend, Lenny Shaw of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney Stephens (Lynn) of Carnesville; grandchildren, Colby Stephens (Heather), Sydney Brady (Chris), and Heather Kastner (Jesse Stewart); former son-in-law, Mike Kastner; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Tony Stewart of Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, June Garrett (J.L.) of Homer, Wanda Stewart (Robert) of Monroe, Betty Amick of Alto, and Linda Stewart of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Jimmy Moon of Winder; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services are 2 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor Bob Petty officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, and from 12 noon until the service hour on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the funeral home.
