Donald Poole

Mr. Poole's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, J-6, Space 2. Donald Poole, age 80, of, Baldwin, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 26, 2021. Mr. Poole was born on April 13, 1940, in Homer, Georgia, to the late Wilson and Florence Poole.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings:Howard Poole, Virginia Pruitt, Mitchell Poole, Annie Sue Greenway, Billy Poole, Myrtle Lewallen, Francine Elsner, Rudolph Poole and Ruth Edwards. Mr. Poole was a member of the Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church.During his working career, he had been associated with Mt. Vernon Mills, The Department of Corrections, and Habersham Metal.His great love and joy was his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty years, Sandra Poole, of Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Sherri Poole, of Gainesville; three sisters, Julia McConnell, of Cornelia; Rachel McNabb, of Baldwin; Linda Chapman, of Baldwin; one brother, Kenneth Poole, of Baldwin; granddaughter and her husband, Tiffani and Alex Warren; grandson, Clint Poole; one great-grandson, Walker Warren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with the Rev. Scott Ledbetter and Mrs. Tiffani Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Terry Benfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the funeral home. The family respectfully request friends and guest wear facial coverings and practice social distancing.
