Mrs. Sims' final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill I, F-21, Space 4. Doris C. Sims, age 75 passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at her residence while she was surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born in Toccoa to the late Jack Scott and Para Lee Hester Littleton Scott. She and her husband, together, owned and operated Northeast Georgia Forest Products. Doris was also a bus driver for Habersham County, where she loved and adored each child that was placed in her care. Doris loved gardening and working in her flower beds, but above all- she loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Eugene Sims; and a son, John Bradley Sims. She is survived by her two children, Garry Eugene Sims (Marilyn) of Toccoa and Deborah Sims Etheridge of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, George Sims (Esmeralda) of Killeen, Texas, Jamie Love (James) of Comer, Tara Sims of Sugar Hill, and Ethan Etheridge (Megan) of Gainesville; ten great grandchildren, Raegan, Ysahbella, Nolyan, Sawyer, Julian, Makayla, Karlie, Olivia, Sara, and Abbigail; and one sister, Linda Scott of Baldwin. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday at Hillside. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday in Hillside Memorial Chapel. Reverend Doyle Sims and Reverend Tony Banks will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
