Edwin Presley Williams, Jr.

Mr. Williams' final place of rest is at Garden of Yonah I, G-4, Space 4. Edwin Presley Williams, Jr., age 88 of Alto, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 07, 2021. Born in Habersham County, Georgia on October 01, 1933, he was a son of the late Edwin Presley, Sr. & Vallie Jay Moore Williams. Edwin served his country proudly in the United States Navy and retired from Carwood Manufacturing Company with 47 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed cattle farming, vegetable gardening and restoring old tractors. Most of all, he loved the Lord and was a faithful husband, devoted father, & Papa who loved his family tremendously. Edwin was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Morris. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Gwen Barrett Williams; daughter, Gail Williams Welborn both of Alto, GA; granddaughter & husband, Monica & Rev. Dusty Holtzclaw; great-granddaughter, Lennox Presley Holtzclaw all of Cumming, GA; sister, Dorothy Williams Morris; brother & sister-in-law, Larry Jay & Betty Williams all of Alto, GA; sister-in-law, Rosie Barrett of Clarkesville, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dusty Holtzclaw & Rev. Daniel Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Terry Rice officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour on Wednesday. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made in memory of Edwin P.
