Floyd C. Helton

Mr. Helton's final place of rest is located at Garden of Honor, H-16, Space 2. Mr. Floyd C. Helton, age 75 of Dahlonega, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Helton was born August 11, 1934 in Cleveland to the late Marion and Cordia Corbin Helton. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Helton was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Helton and Herman Helton. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Helton, Dahlonega; daughters and sons-in-law, Jena Helton Payne and Jeff Payne, Murrayville; Dena Helton Yarbrough and Brian Cummings, Great Mills, Maryland; grandchildren, Darian Payne and Donovan Payne, both of Murrayville; sister, Betty Jean Helton Dockery, Dahlonega; numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great niece. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, May 23, 2010 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip Robinson and the Rev. Tim Sullens will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-9 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
