Mr. Mahan's final place of rest is located at Garden of Prayer, Level B, Crypt 2. FREDERICK BENNETT MAHAN, JR. age 89 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 following a period of declining health. Born in Trenton, New Jersey on October 11, 1926, he was a son of the late Frederick Bennett Mahan, Sr. & Florence O’Hara Mahan. Mr. Mahan served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII. He retired as an engineer associate with AT&T after many years of service. Mr. Mahan enjoyed golfing and was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Demko Mahan and daughter, Michelle Mahan DeMola. Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Wayne & Cynthia Mahan of Cornelia; grandson & partner, Nathaniel Frederick Mahan & Jamie Pittman of Demorest; brother, Robert Mahan of West Virginia; sister, Suzanne Walczak of New Jersey; and goddaughter, Karen Raskasky of Port St. Lucie, Florida A graveside entombment service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest.
