Mrs. Palmer's final place of rest is located in Garden of Honor, G-13, Space 1. Gennie Sue Hambrick Palmer, age 93, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Mrs. Palmer was born on September 3, 1931, in Banks County, Georgia to the late William Robert and Rachel Henderson Hambrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford Palmer; sisters, Jean Hambrick; Bernice Barrett; and brother, Roy Hambrick. Mrs. Palmer was a member of Habersham Baptist Church. She had retired from Regency, where she had worked as an engraver for over a decade. She was known as "Mama Sue", not only to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, but many others that spent time around her. Mama Sue will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Michael Davis, of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce & Beth Palmer, of Clarkesville; sister, Bonnie Black, of Acworth; grandchildren and spouses, Jordan and Marissa Davis, Emily and Matt Green, Joseph and Olivia Palmer, Kerston Palmer; great-grandchildren, Harley Green and Ella Green Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Chris Anderson and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
