Grady Locke

Mr. Locke's final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill III, A-18, Space 4. Grady Locke, age 87, of Lula, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017. Mr. Locke was born on December 8, 1929 in Baldwin, Georgia to the late Irvin and Norma Tench Locke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Locke; sisters, Geraldine Webb, Evelyn Irvin, and Mary Jo Irvin. Mr. Locke was a member of First Baptist Church of Lula. He was a Deacon, taught the Men's Sunday School Class for 40 years. Mr. Locke sang in the Choir, and was a member of the Happy Hearts Quartet. He was a Gideon and member of the Hall County East Camp. Mr. Locke was an avid Wood Worker. He was a retired salesman with Sears Roebuck and Company with 20 years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Mildred Brookshire Locke, of Lula; daughter, Diane Dorsey, of Gainesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Marvin Moore, of Lula; Beverly and Rick Chapman, of Lula; sister, Ruth Locke Webb, of Hollywood; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Randy Johnson, Rev. Robert Truelove, and Rev. Todd Linn officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2017 at the funeral home.
