Harvey Vern Spivey

Mr. Spivey's final place of rest is located at Garden of Honor, J-17, Space 4. Harvey Vern Spivey, age 88, of Peachtree Corners, GA, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory. Interment will follow at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday June 30th, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Harvey was born in Habersham County June 4th, 1930 to the late Fred and Gladys Spivey and was also preceded in death by his brother Barron Spivey. Harvey was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. Following his military service, he settled in the Atlanta area and resided in Peachtree Corners for 46 years. Harvey graduated from the Clarkesville Trade School in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, and then taught at Lanier Technical College in Gainesville, GA. Later in his career Harvey was self-employed in Refrigeration Equipment Sales. Survivors include wife Shirley Sanders Spivey of Norcross, GA; daughter Robin Spivey of Marietta, GA; granddaughter and grandson in-law, Olivia Goolsby and Scott Becker of Carnesville, GA; grandson, Alexander Goolsby of Marietta, GA; sisters, Merle Free, Marty Carroll and brother in-law Ron, Wanda McAllister, Mary Miller, Lois Guthrie and brother in-law Robert; brother, Robert Spivey and sister in-law Ophelia Spivey; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their Special Thanks to the excellent care for Harvey by his wonderful Caregivers.
