Helen Gerrell

Mrs. Gerrell's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance I, G-8, Space 3. Helen V. Gerrell, age 82, of Demorest, Georgia, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, August 4, 2018, following a sudden illness. Mrs. Gerrell was born on March 4, 1936, in Demorest, Georgia, to the late Jessie Gunn and Lewis Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Gerrell, Sr.; brother, Danny Gunn; and sons-in-law: Ray Ludwig, Jr., John Nicholson, and Larry Vinson, Sr. Mrs. Gerrell was of the Holiness faith. Helen was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughters: Gail Ludwig of Clarkesville, Cheryl Nicholson of Toccoa, and Sandra Vinson of Toccoa; sons: Levis Gerrell and wife, Grace of Alto, Michael Gerrell of Demorest, and Ron Gerrell and wife, Renee of Gainesville; grandchildren: Larissa Gragg, Micah Ludwig, Ray Ludwig III, Toni Murray, Matthew Vinson, Dustin Gerrell, Ivy Gerrell, Lily Gerrell, John Gerrell, and Hank Gerrell; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Keith Phagan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Monday, August 6, 2018, at the funeral home.
