Hoyt Bryson

Mr. Bryson's final place of rest is located at Garden of Prayer, E-2 Left. Hoyt B. Bryson, age 87, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017. Mr. Bryson was born on November 16, 1929, in Franklin, North Carolina; a son of the late Joseph Purnell and Arphia Raby Bryson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norton P. Bryson and grandson, Jonathan Lee Duncan. He was ordained a deacon at the Cowee Baptist Church in Franklin, NC and was also a member of Junaluskee 0145 Masons. Mr. Bryson was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia where he served faithfully as a deacon, he also served in various places in the church including Sunday School and Discipleship Training. He served on several church committees, including Building and Grounds and as an usher. Mr. Bryson was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Family Class. Hoyt founded and owned Bryson Auto Parts in Cornelia, GA. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen G. Bryson, Cornelia, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Keith G. Bryson and Ruth, Rapid City, SD; son, Kim Hoyt Bryson, Cornelia, GA; daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah B. Worsham and Wayne, Miriam B. Duncan and Joey, and Rebecca B. Buttram and Tim, all of Cornelia, GA; grandchildren: Jeffery and Katie English, John and Mimi English, Melissa and Mickey Carroll, Kevin and Beverly Worsham, Michael and Brandi Worsham, Tracy Worsham, and Adrien Buttram; great-grandchildren: Sara, Maggie, and Kate English, Breelyn, Maddox, and Nolan Carroll, and Alivia and Brinley Worsham; and sister, Louise Bryson Holden, Franklin, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Cornelia, with Dr. Eric Spivey, Rev. Steve Doran, and Ronnie Parham officiating. A private family inurnment will be held in Yonah Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 am on Saturday, June 24, 2017, the day of the service, in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Cornelia.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made "In Memory of Hoyt B.
