Mr. Ramey's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, C-5, Space #4. J.B. Ramey, age 84, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Mr. Ramey was born on February 26, 1940, in Towns County, to the late Johnnie and Julie Shook Ramey. He was the owner of Ramey Motors and a former sheriff’s deputy and Captain of White County Fire Station #2. In addition to his parents, J.B. was preceded in death by his son, Allen Ramey; grandson, Darrin Ramey; brothers, Lloyd Ramey and Venson Ramey; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Marie Ramey; brother-in-law, Lloyd Fry. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ramey, Cleveland; son, Tommy Ramey; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Shelia Ramey and Jeff and Debra Ramey; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Calvin Smith; grandchildren, Shaun Ramey, Travis and Chelsea Ramey, Kevin Smith, Kelly Smith McMurphy, Randy Smith, Sherry Smith Molton, Priscilla and Jeremy Pearson, and Matthew and Halie Ramey; brother and sister-in-law, Fletcher and Karen Ramey; sister, Vada Fry; sisters-in-law, Kathy Ramey and Edith Ramey; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Lewis Fortner, the Rev. Paul Flynn, the Rev. Gary Heffner, and the Rev. J.D. Sosebee will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest, Georgia.
