James Alfred Savage

Mr. Savage's final place of rest is located at Garden of Honor, C-13, Space 4. James Alfred Savage, age 71, Alto, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. Mr. Savage was born on October 9, 1942, in Banks County, Georgia to the late Randolph and Bessie Mae Simmons Savage. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Julie Crowe and Jeanette Savage. Mr. Savage was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Savage was a retired Sgt. Patrol officer with Banks County Sheriff Department with 18 years of service. He was employed with the Baldwin Police Department and retired in 2011. Mr. Savage was also formerly employed part time with the Cornelia Police Department. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Allie Wade Savage, Alto; daughter, Toni Sheridan, Alto; sister, Nancy Jereline Savage, Cleveland; granddaughter, Megan Sheridan, Alto. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Dr. Kenneth Franklin, Rev. Sanford Kimbrell, and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors, provided by The Georgia National Guard and Law Enforcement Officers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
