Joann Taylor

Mrs. Taylor's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance III, C-9, Space 3. Joann Carlan Taylor, age 76 of the Green Mountain Village Community, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018. Born in Hall County, Georgia on April 12, 1942, she was a daughter of the late John and Magnolia Nix Carlan. Mrs. Taylor was the owner of Rabun Printing Company before retiring and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, crocheting and upholstery work. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Duncan Taylor; sisters, Linda Abernathy and Manolia Bowden; brother-in-law, Forrest Bowden. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Dale & Sandy Murray of Demorest; daughter, Donna Seay of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Kristy Carlan of Demorest; sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene & Walt Whiting and Myra & DeWaine Bohannon all of Demorest; 4 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
