Kathryn J Ayers

Mrs. Ayers' final place of rest is at Garden of Yonah I, E-8, Space 3. Kathryn J. Ayers, age 88, of Hernando, Florida and formerly of Cornelia, GA, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at The Hospice House of Lecanto. Mrs. Ayers was born on January 24, 1919 in Brasstown, North Carolina to the late Josh and Lillie Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. J. Ayers. She was homemaker and was of the Baptist faith having attended First Baptist Church while living in Cornelia. For many years she worked in the family business at Gator's Sporting Goods in Crystal River. She was the caregiver of her family. Survivor include: her son: Malcom Ayers, Hernando, FL; her grandson: Henry R. Ayers, Hernando, FL; her granddaughter: Linda L. Jones, Marathon, FL; her great-grandson: Rory Ayers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Greg Walton officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
