Msk. Chastain's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance I, A-2, Space 3. Ms. Michelle Chastain, age 46, of Toccoa, formerly of Habersham County, went home to be with her baby boy and her Dad on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Born October 10, 1973 in Demorest GA, she was the daughter of Kathy Ridley Smith and the late William Carlos Junior Chastain. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian Faith. Michelle was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. She always rathered to be outside than indoors. She preferred country music and coke over any other beverage. She went through a lot in life but still did nothing more than loving her kids, mother, and grandmother. She is with Christopher, her first son, forever looking down on her family that loves and misses her. Even though we miss her, we know she is happy now. Michelle is always with us in our hearts and our minds. This isn’t goodbye, it’s never goodbye, it’s until I see you again. Family members include her mother, Kathy Ridley Smith; her children, Destiny Cross, Dakota Whitlock, and Nikael Whitlock; her companion, Eric Whitlock; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Kelly Smith and Craig and Courtney Watkins; sisters, Tina Chastain, Ashley Chastain, Juanita Martin, and Erica Bell; grandmother, Reba Waldrop. She was preceded in death by her father, Junior Chastain; her son, Christopher Cross; and by the father of Christopher and Destiny, Tracy Lewis Cross. A private family graveside service will be held at Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest. Due to the conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be receiving friends or having a public service at this time. The family will have a celebration of Michelle’s life at a later date. Please remember to keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
