Mrs. Franklin's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, N-6, Space 3. Katie Mae Nations Franklin, age 90, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Mrs. Franklin was born on May 1, 1926 in White County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harve and Cindy Ledford Nations; husband, Robert D. Franklin; son, William J. "Billy" Franklin. Mrs. Franklin was a member of Old Nacoochee Primitive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Greta and Edward Weaver, of Toccoa; Patricia and Samuel Swafford, of Clarkesville; daughters, Lear Mae Gudger, of Clarkesville; Mary Ann Frye, of Clarkesville; Annette Watts, of Hollywood; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Lee and Brenda Franklin, of Clarkesville; Harold and Velma Franklin, of Cornelia; Larry and Linda Franklin, of Finger, TN; and 200 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren combined. Mrs. Franklin was the last of her immediate family. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Jerry Marcus, Rev. Kenneth Taylor, and Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the funeral home.
