Levi Dudley Chandler

Mr. Chandler's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance IV, D-14, Space 4. LEVI DUDLEY CHANDLER, age 68 of Alto, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 following an extended illness. Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on January 29, 1950, he was a son of Dollie Mae Hurt Chandler of Baldwin & the late Columbus Dudley Chandler. Levi was a 1969 graduate of South Habersham High School and retired from Ethicon (Johnson & Johnson Company) after many years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of the Hazel Creek Baptist Church where he participated in the Brotherhood, AGAPE Sunday School Class, helped with the children’s ministry (AWANA Program), and sang in the church choir since the age of 10. In addition to his father, Levi was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Rev. Henry Grady Barnes and nephew, Cody Holbrooks. Survivors in addition to his mother include his loving wife of 40 years, Sue Barnes Chandler of Alto, GA; sons, Daniel Chandler, David Chandler, James Chandler, daughter, Breanna Chandler, all of Alto, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Donald & Caroline Chandler of Mt. Airy, GA; mother-in-law, Virginia Barnes of Demorest; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Robin & John Irvin of Cornelia, GA; nieces & spouses, Salena & Brent McKay of Alto, GA; Misty & Daryl Rice of Demorest, GA; nephew & spouse, Dyllan & Aly Holbrooks of Cornelia, GA; granddaughter, Charlotte Kay Chandler of Baldwin, GA; cousins, other relatives, & a host of friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Burrell & Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Trent Smith officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
