Mrs. Tench's final place of rest is located at Garden of Yonah I, E-19, Space 1. LOIS HICKS TENCH, age 83, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Mrs. Tench was born on July 6, 1933 in White County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Grace Autry Hicks; and brother, Gordon Odell Hicks. Mrs. Tench was a member of Habersham Baptist Church. She was a retired Inspector from Ethicon Johnson and Johnson with over 25 years of service. Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years, Grady Tench, of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Joan Tench, of Demorest; son, Steve Tench, of Demorest; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Fred Holbrooks, of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Maureen Hicks, of Demorest; granddaughter and spouse, Stefanie and John Abbott; great-grandsons, Jesse Abbott, and Jacob Abbott. Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Doug Porter. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the funeral home.
