Ms. Soto's final place of rest is in the Garden of Prayer, Right Wall, Crypt B-8. Maria Del Carmen Soto, age 79, of Commerce, Georgia formerly of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024. Ms. Soto was born on October 10, 1944 in Habana, Cuba to the late Guillermo Soto Bouza and Celia Rey Fernandez. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her best friend, Charlotte Travis; her husband, Jose Adolfo Castro Gonzalez; and her brother, Guillermo Soto Rey. Ms. Soto was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Clarkesville. Survived by her son, Dwayne Travis, of New Jersey; caregiver, Robin Smith, of Canon; niece, Taryn Smith, of Canon; great-nephews, Adam Kennedy, and Frankie Pribyl. Entombment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
