Mrs. Carpenter's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance II, B-17, Space 3. Funeral services for Marjorie Chapman Carpenter, age 92 of Baldwin will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Austin Kelley will officiate with interment to follow the service in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Carpenter passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 following an extended illness. Born in Habersham County on December 15, 1922, Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of the late Will H. and Ada Allen Chapman. She was a homemaker and a member of Good News Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carpenter is preceded in death by husband Clifford Carpenter, sisters Mavel Byers, Thelma Elrod, and Flonnie Mae Watkins, and brothers Herchel Chapman, Herferd Chapman, and Walter Chapman. Survivors include son Keith Carpenter of Soperton, sister Madge Taylor of Demorest, granddaughter Lynn Carpenter of Forsyth, granddaughter and spouse Dawn and Scott Helton of Clarkesville, grandson and spouse Dwayne and Jackie Carpenter of Soperton, and great granddaughters Brittney, Taylor, and Lindsey Carpenter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 6 - 8 PM.
