Marvin L. Barnes

Mr. Barnes' final place of rest is located at Garden of Calvary, R-4, Space 2. Marvin L. Barnes, age 62, of Clarkesville, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019. Born in Highlands, North Carolina, on March 18, 1957, he was a son of Charlie Barnes of Seneca, SC and the late Lucille Houston Barnes. He was also preceded in death by his son, Charlie Barnes and sister, Gearlene Talley. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Cathy Barnes of Clarkesville; sons, Christopher Barnes and Marvin Leeman Barnes, Jr., both of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Rudy Bardinelli of Canon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Nora Barnes of Clarkesville and Charles and Kim Barnes of Toccoa; sisters and brother-in-law: Birdell Barnes of West Union, SC, Margaret and Mike Wilbanks of West Union, SC, and Maxine Barnes of Walhalla, SC; and grandchildren: Cassidy, Matthew, McKayla, McKenzie, Caleb, Travis, Daniel, Jasmine, and Sophia. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Dills officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
