Mrs. Fersuson's final place of rest is at Sunset Hill III, C-9, Space 3. MARY JULIA HARVILL FERGUSON, age 76, of Buford, GA died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Lanier Park Hospital. Mrs. Ferguson was born on January 1, 1931 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late William and Julia Lennard Harvill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Max Edward Ferguson and a brother, Bill Harvill. Mrs. Ferguson was a bacteriologist with Georgia State Health Department for many years She was a frequent traveler having traveled to Europe and, during college, traveled extensively in France. Mrs. Ferguson was adventurous and was a supporter of education and arts and inspired others to excel in these areas. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Carol Ferguson Coy and David Coy, Buford, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: Frank and Mary Ferguson, Signal Mountain, TN; her grandchildren: Julia Ferguson, Margaret Coy and Nathan Coy; her sister: Margaret Allen, Lawrenceville, GA; her sisters-in-law: Betty Ferguson, Cornelia, GA; Ruth Harvill, Cartersville, GA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 Noon until the funeral hour on Saturday.
