Nina Strashinsky

Mrs. Strashinsky's final place of rest is at Honor, G-24, Space 1. NINA KOZAK STRASHINSKY, age 83, of Thornton, Colorado and formerly of Cornelia, GA, passed away Monday, December 21, 2009 in Colorado. Mrs. Strashinsky was born on Jan. 27, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Afanasy Kozak and Martha Oginsky Kozak. She was preceded in death by her husband George Strashinsky. Mrs. Strashinsky worked as an Export Secretary for Johnson and Johnson Corp. and as a Secretary for the Cornerstone Christian School in East Brunswick, NJ. She was a member of the Cornelia Church of God, The Assembly of God Church, New Brunswick, NJ, and attended Thorn Creek Church, Thornton, CO. Survivors are: 3 daughters: Nora Duncan, Thornton, CO; Karen Murray, Jacksonville, FL; and Jennifer Frantz, Extonville, NJ. 2 sons: Alan Strashinsky, Voorhees, NJ; and Don Strashinsky, Cornelia, GA. 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Pastor Jason Thornton and Rev. Austin Ivester officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 4-6 PM at the funeral home.
