Mr. Reed's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, B-4, Space 1. PAUL S. REED, JR., age 74, of Demorest, GA, husband to Lynn C. Reed, passed away Saturday, May 1 2010, at the residence following an extended illness. Mr. Reed was born November 23, 1935, in Oakwood, GA, to the late Paul S. Reed, Sr. and Jewelle Belle House Reed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Reed Harlan, a grandson, James Paul Armstrong, and a brother, Robert G. Reed. Mr. Reed was a member of the Level Grove Baptist Church and was a Mason. Mr. Reed was a retired mortgage lender and Vice President of Dixie Acceptance Corporation, Jacksonville, FL. After retiring, he became associated with North Florida Lincoln-Mercury. After Mrs. Reed's retirement, they moved back to his home town in Demorest, GA Survivors include, in addition to his wife, daughter, Jackie Darlene Reed Ellis, Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Barbara Ann Holcomb, Cornelia, GA and Jackie Maness, Alpharetta, GA; four grandchildren, Heather Ellis, Hollie Shurley, Kristy Straus, and Sam Harlan, Jr. and 5 great-grandchildren, Tabitha Denmark, Kody Barnes, Kyler Shurley, Lane Findley and Kami Straus. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Brian James and Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Monday, May 3, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
