Mr. Franklin's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, D-2, Space 4. Funeral services for Raymond Duncan Franklin, Sr., age 89 of Turnerville will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Butch Franklin, Dr. Kenneth Franklin, and Mr. Lyman Robertson will officiate with interment to follow the service at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest. Mr. Franklin passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018. Born in Turnerville on November 12, 1928, Mr. Franklin was the son of Wilford Paris “Pete” and Nora Taylor Franklin. He was a Labor Forman for the North Georgia Hydro Group of Georgia Power. Mr. Franklin was a member and deacon of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a member of the Clarkesville Lions Club. In addition to his parents, Mr. Franklin is preceded in death by his wife Lucille Arrendale Franklin He is survived by daughters Sandra Franklin Kendall of Silver Creek, Georgia, Glenda Franklin Franklin (Randy) of Hollywood, son Raymond Duncan Franklin, Jr. (Tonia) of Turnerville, Georgia , grandchildren Burt McCollum, Michael McCollum, Jacqueline Earp (Scott), Josh Franklin (Nicole), Kimberly Cook, Casie Whisenant (Evan), and Elaina Cochran (T.J.), as well as 12 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM.
