Mr. Hallford's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, A-1, Space 4. Raymond Charles Hallford, age 83, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 following an extended illness. Mr. Hallford was born on January 25, 1935 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Jim and Myrtle Hallford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six brothers, and two sisters. Mr. Hallford was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Hallford was a Veteran of the United States Navy having proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired self-employed millright. Survivors include his wife, Lorain Hallford, of Demorest; daughter, Cindy Hallford, of California; step-daughters, Patricia Mauldin, of Clarkesville; Pamela Hammond, of Florida; step-son, Danny Brewster, of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Tamara Carson, Cori Brewster, Emily Brewster, Trent Wall, Damien Mauldin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Austin Kelley and Rev. Jeff Shelnut officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy, the Grant-Reeves V.F.W. Post 7720, and the American Legion Post # 84, Rabun County DAV Post #15. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the funeral home.
