Ruby Yarber

Ms. Yarber's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance III, F-1, Space 4. Ruby Mathis Yarber, age 84 of Baldwin, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born in Jackson County on September 6, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Ollie Umbehant Mathis. Ruby was retired from Ethicon and was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church, where she was active in the Joy Club and her Sunday School Class. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting dolls and giving them makeovers. In addition to her parents, Ruby was also preceded in death by her brother-in-laws, James Bellamy and Penn Moss. Survivors include sisters, Kathleen Bellamy and Hazel Moss both of Baldwin; nieces, Vickie Fowler of Baldwin, Diann (Steve) Spruill of Toccoa, and Robin (David) Sanders of Baldwin; five great nieces, two great-great nieces, and three great-great nephews. Funeral services are 1:30 pm Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Mike Campbell and Pastor Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Thursday.
