Russ Overton

Mr. Overton's final place of rest is at Garden of Honor, G-18, Space 2. RUSS OVERTON, age 58, of Baldwin, Georgia, died unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, January 5, 2007. Mr. Overton was born on June 29, 1948 in DeKalb County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Farley W. Overton, Sr. and his step-father, Lenox T. Henderson. Mr. Overton was a member of the 1st Christian Church of Decatur. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served two tours in Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Overton was employed with the State of Georgia, Department of Georgia Telecommunications Authority. Survivors include: his wife: Kathy Overton, Baldwin, GA; his mother: Ethel Henderson, Cornelia, GA; his daughter: LaChelle Neudorfer, Loganville, GA; his sons: Kane Overton, Hoschton, GA; Casey Williams, Cornelia, GA; brother: Craig Overton, Cornelia, GA; 3 grandchildren: Sierra Neudorfer, Michael Overton, and Trevor Neudorfer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Matt Thomas and Rev. Charlie Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
