Sam Ragan Sr.

Rev. Ragan's final place of rest is located at Garden of Yonah II, G-17, Space 2. Rev. Sam Ragan Sr. age 92, of Cornelia, GA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Rev. Ragan was born on, July 23, 1927 in Pendergrass, GA to the late Walter and Annie Ragan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Lucy McCoy Ragan, and a son, Samuel Lamar Ragan, Jr. Rev. Ragan was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Rev. Ragan was a retired Baptist minister having served the following churches: Ridgeway Baptist church, Camp Creek Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Tom Morrison, Commerce, GA and Wanda and Stan Morris, Alto, GA; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday December 6, 2019 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with the Rev. Mike Wilson and Rev. Johnny Loudermilk officiating.. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 5, 2019.
