Velma Renee Black

Ms. Black's final place of rest is located at Garden of Prayer, Niche', B-8. Velma "Renee" Black, age 69, of Sugar Hill, Georgia formerly of Clarkesville, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Ms. Black was born on January 25, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Charles A. and Velma Brown Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles D. Black, Sr. Ms. Black was a member of The Torch Worship Center. She was disabled. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Kay A. Black, of Sugar Hill; brothers, Thomas A. Black, of Lawrenceville; Frank Ruckle, of Bradenton, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Entombment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home the day of the service.
