Mrs. Brown's final place of rest is at Garden of Remembrance II, G-16, Space 3. Virginia Osborne “Jenny” Brown 85, of East Ridge passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 in Kennesaw, GA, where she has lived the past six months. She was a native of Hartwell, GA and had lived most of her life in East Ridge. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Rossville where she had served as secretary and children’s Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Bridge Builders Senior Group, the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU), and the Chattanooga Senior Citizen Group. Mrs. Brown was a Book Keeper by trade working for a pant company during World War II in Toccoa, GA as well as a book keeper with an insurance company in Washington, DC and Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Annie Osborne; sisters, Tommy Canup, Mary Crawford, and Frances Brown; and two brothers, Patrick and Walter Osborne. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Elmo H. “Buck” Brown of East Ridge; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest, GA. The family will receive friends Monday from 10a.m. until the Funeral Hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
