Willeen Broughton

Mrs. Broughton's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, P-5, Space 3. Willeen Anderson Broughton, age 79 of Cornelia, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Mrs. Broughton was born on October 27, 1939 to the late Willie Anderson and Mary Ellen Daniels Heard Anderson. She was the oldest of six children. Willeen met and married Mr. Chester Broughton from Monroeville, Alabama. They resided in Nashville, Tennessee until Mr. Broughton passed away in 2009 and Willeen moved back to Georgia. She worked at Dooley’s daycare for many years and later was employed by Sky Chef with American Airlines in Nashville, Tennessee. A time to rejoice: Willeen attended Cornelia Regional High School and accepted the Lord as her savior and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church. While in Nashville, she joined St. Matthews Baptist Church where she served on the usher board as well as a mother of the church, her Pastor there was Pastor Armstrong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Broughton; sister, Elease Anderson Nicely; brother and sister-in-law, Retired MSGT. John B. Anderson and Catherine Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sisters, Alma Jean Anderson King, Mary Ann Anderson Nicely and Carolyn Anderson all of Cornelia, Georgia; nieces, Paula Nicely Grayson of Gainesville, Georgia, Pamila Nicely Brock, Lisa Camp, Christie (Michael) Babers and Barbara Blackwell all of Cornelia, Georgia; nephews, Michael (Barbara) Wright of Powder Springs, Georgia and Craig Nicely of Sautee, Georgia; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; best friend, Joyce (Richard) Wilson of Tennessee. Going home services are scheduled for 1 pm, Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
