William Barnes

Mr. Barnes' final place of rest is located at Garden of Honor, E-18, Space 4. William Barnes age 85 of Lakemont, Georgia passed away December 12, 2014 at the Habersham Medical Center. He was the son of the late Ethel and Thomas Barnes and was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 ½ years Mary Lathem Barnes; two Daughters Patricia Barnes of Atlanta, Ga., Laura and husband Robert Brown of Lakemont, Ga.; three Grandchildren David Brown and special friend Meg Wade, Daniel Brown, Amanda Brown, Mr. Barnes is also survived by three sisters. Mr. Barnes was in the Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Clemson University in 1958 with an Electrical Engineer Degree, he was an active member of The Gideon’s International, and was a master craftsman of woodwork. He was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Sunday December 14, 2014 from 2PM until 3PM with funeral services at 3PM at the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steve Townsend officiating. Interment will follow at the Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest, Ga. Cemetery Arrangements have been entrusted to Yonah Memorial Gardens at 255 Central Avenue, Demorest, Georgia 30535.
