Mrs. Wooten's final place of rest is at Garden of Remembrance II, A-2, Space 1. WILLIE DAVIS WOOTEN, age 92, of Demorest, Georgia, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at a private care facility. Mrs. Wooten was born on October 7, 1916 in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Joe Martin and Martha Ella Garrett Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter N. Wooten, her daughter, Linda Batson, her brother, Richard Davis, and her sisters, Mary Cogsdill, Nellie Copeland, Thelma Poor, and Doxie Murphy. Mrs. Wooten was a homemaker and a member of the Cornelia Church of God. Survivors include: her daughters: Judith McClure, McDonough, GA; Diane Jordan, Cornelia, GA; Billie Richburg, Anderson, SC; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Wilmer Ivester and Rev. James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
